Do you ever wonder what happens in a botanical garden when the gates close and the last visitors have left? I know I do, so that is why I asked the Hortus Botanicus Amsterdam if I could live in one of their greenhouses for seven days.

So from 10 till 17 July that is what I did: I lived, worked and slept in a greenhouse in the middle of the Hortus Botanicus in Amsterdam as their first artist in residence ever.

During this week I made a series of new drawings in which I tried to create a new perspective on this 379 year old garden. I also invited several musicians to come by and write the soundtrack to my work while I was living there.

A selection of my drawings and these four songs, all created in my greenhouse, are bundled in a limited edition book that comes with a 7” single with songs by Sef & Falco Benz, Eefje de Visser & Nuno Dos Santos, I am Oak and Matteo Myderwyk, bueatifully designed by Baster.
